Guzzi
Birds do GB
This year, the 30th annivarsary year of the club, we have chosen to do something a little bigger for charity.
The
Moto Guzzi Club GB has agreed to help sponsor a male cancer charity,
namely the Orchid
Cancer Appeal by organising and pomoting a fund raising event -
Guzzi Birds do GB, where
the Guzzi Birds are going to tour Great Brittain and Ireland.
Our PR Officer, Sue Nock came up with the initial concept and is one
of the main organisers of the event as well as our liasion with the
charity.
What the charity is for:
The Orchid Cancer Appeal is dedicated to funding research into diagnosis, prevention and treatment of prostate and testicular cancer as well as promoting awareness of these previously neglected diseases.
What is GB do GB:
We have 6 female Guzzi-riding volunteers (the Guzzi Birds), who will spend 11 days touring GB and Ireland to raise money for the Orchid Cancer Appeal. They will fund their own trip (petrol, accommodation, food etc.) to ensure all money raised goes to the chosen charity.
We want you to get involved:
We would like to heartily invite everyone (male or female) to come and join us for any part of the route they can. More details on the route will be published as soon as they have been finalised. See the Gambalunga article for a draft outline of the route and other information.
