About the Moto Guzzi Club GB

Breva 1100How it all started - brief History

The Motoguzzi Club was Established 1976 by a small band of just 40 enthusiasts.
The Club now covers the whole of the UK and Ireland, and has almost 3,000 members.
For more info on the Club's history please visit the History page.

Although a National Club in concept, over the years it has also formed into some 30 branches nationwide to cater for local activities - and the number of branches is still growing.
For more details regarding the branches visit the Branches section.

What the club does - main Activities & Benefits

  • GambalungaGambalunga (meaning long legged) - the club's journal
In keeping with most all other motorcycle organisations, The Club has always recognised the importance of having a top-class magazine, and quickly progressed from a monthly newssheet to the present day journal "Gambalunga" (meaning long-legged) which is produced to a very professional standard, bristling with lively debate, technical articles and all the latest gen on the Guzzi scene.

For more information about the club's journal visit the Gambalunga page.
  • Regalia
The Club introduced a range of high quality regalia to serve the interests of the hardened rider. As the range is about to be changed you may want to check out the Regalia section for any bargains.
  • Rescue Register
The Club's Rescue Register contains the names of hundreds of fellow members throughout the UK, Ireland and overseas, who are willing to give a helping hand if misfortune strikes. It is available to club members only and can now be found online in the members only area. To use it please log into the members only area using the login function at the top this page.
  • Events
The club organises a number of events every year such as rallies and camping weekends and also mans stands at several bike shows. Fore more information on what we get up to visit the Events Diary.
  • Autojumble
A recent introduction to the calendar is an annual Autojumble at the AGM weekend, where members can spend a convivial time browsing through the bring and buy stalls. For details of the next Autojumble please see the Events page.
  • Forum
Online forum, where you can keep in touch with your Guzzi friends no matter what the weather or distance, share branch information, ask technical questions and discussions as well as sell your bike or find that bargain you've been looking for.
  • Machine Dating
Members can get an officially recognised machine dating letter from our machine dating officer for free. Also available to non members at a cost of £20.00.
  • Other benefits
The Club also looks towards the more expansive needs of the membership, and has an ongoing commitment to negotiate and provide reduced insurance rates, machines valuation for insurance purposes, ferry discounts and a factory liaison service for machine dating etc.

What is it all about - The Guzzi Spirit

To me a recent members comment sums it up nicely:

“I've absolutely fallen in love with my Le Mans, it's changed my view of biking.
My (on paper far superior) Honda VTR1000 is pretty much redundant, as given the choice I take the big Italian beast every time.”

The Guzzi spirit is all about enjoying yourself and your motorbike(s) and sharing this feeling of joy with others.
What matters is not whether you're attending events on your bike or in the family saloon, but the fact that you turn up and share your experiences and the Club's camaraderie.

One thing that can definitely be said is that the Moto Guzzi Club GB is essentially a riders and fan club and caters for older single-cylinder Guzzi's and modern "V" twins alike.
It does not place great score on awarding trophies for trophies sake and instead encourages friendly interaction between fellow motorcycle riders, whatever their choice of bike.

How to get in touch

As the club undertakes numerous functions they can't all be organised by a single person. Hence we ask that you contact only the relevant individuals. This will save us having to pass your request/issue on and hence speed up the processing time.
