LettersLODOLA DAVEPete, I am sorry to announce that following the passing of my wife Gerry, after a long struggle against kidney failure, I am no longer able to stand as the Fenland Branch Organiser and Club contact. Now that I have sole charge of my two sons a hobby less hazardous than riding motorcycles, is required, for the time being at least. I am going to keep the Le Mans, Lodola and Zigolo and I can always go for a ride in the garage, at least I will not get wet. Many Thanks,David Casbon AKA Lodola
Dave.
FIRST THOUGHTSFirst off, a happy and prosperous New Year to all in the club, if it's not too late? A few of my thoughts and comments for the first time in any magazine, not just Gambalunga. First off a very professional magazine with great topical input from the members. I agree wholeheartedly with the view expressed by Rupert in the Christmas Issue. I have always thought the police do an excellent job, most often under very difficult circumstances, would I like to do it? No, not if I was to be constantly confronted with the attitude expressed by certain sections of the public. And yes, I've met a few, what have seemed to me, vindictive coppers, just as I've met other H. saps with similar personality traits. Stephen Piper INSURANCE, IS IT COVERED?I was saddened to read in the last issue of the extreme misfortune suffered by Serena and Paul when their workshop/garage burned down following being hit by a stray firework. I don't know any details of their losses beyond what was printed, but I do know that they've both been associated with everything Moto Guzzi for a very long time. I tried hard to imagine how I'd feel if my garage burned down, and I'd lost everything I've accumulated over the last 26 years of Guzzi riding, and failed dismally, so I'll just say that my heart goes out to them. to read all about insurance and the reast of this letter please see Gambalunga February/March 2007. IMOLA THANKSMy 'Imola Queries' letter in the last Gambalunga had a great response. I would like to say many thanks everyone who took the time and trouble to reply. Five phone calls and four emails is way beyond what I was expecting. It demonstrates what a great bunch of people belong to this club. to read all please see Gambalunga February/March 2007. Kind regards, Alan Piggott
