Yes, I like that colour combo. Looks good Daz!

Looks like a nice spot wherever the photo was taken too. Is that your neck of the woods?

Thanks Mate, colour wise it would have not been my first choice but it is really starting to grow on me and it looks sort of classy when polished.

Well, looks like my feeling about the way V11 Le Mans prices were rising was right!

This one above sold for £4500.

At that rate, it makes me think about selling my Black 04 with 4000 miles on the clock , but what the hell would i replace it with?  Confused

A very clean 1100 Sport for sale and no bids at £1,500 which is cheap as good ones have been going for £3K+ and seem to have been on the rise recently.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Motorcycles-Scooters-/422/i.html?_trkparms=65%253A7%257C66%253A1%257C39%253A1&rt=nc&_nkw=moto+guzzi&_catref=1&_dmpt=UK_Motorcycles&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=2&_sc=1

It's has an incrdibly low mileage of just 13,000 Kilometres, which is not even run in and looks very tidy...

I'm sorry, I love guzzis but a Daytona is in no way worth 8k to me. I could buy a decent bike for that :)

Unless they have a stock of that particular bike it was in their showroom last year at around this time ....at £6995
It felt too expensive then

I know a few guys who have bought a Centauro, sold the bodywork and bought Daytona cycle parts. You can change cams too if you want the extra top end of a Daytona. With Daytona prices sky high may not be a bad way to go.

Hi have an 1100 Sport Corsa in my garage.Located in Dundee Scotland. Prior to purchase, checked out quite a few, before buying this exceptional example.  Unused for last 8 years. Motorcycle has never been out in the wet and is in fantastic condition. Sensible extras have been fitted such as pro bolt stainless steel fasteners, prattley hugger, carbon fibre front mudguard, creedon wpc12 chip, uprated instrument rubber mounts, as prone to breaking.Other modifications include quick charge port to enable battery charging maintenance. Comes with unused original exhaust system and fitting kit still in original packaging. Original & Termignoni Chip, standard front mudguard, handbook, luggage rack never used, servicebook etc.
Currently on private plate which would have to be removed prior to sale.
Looking for sensible offers, given condition and rarity.

Can I guess you've never ridden a Daytona?
A lot of money right enough but market forces at work. Remember that these were around £10000 when new 19 years ago. Hugely satisfying to ride and there are time when I go to my garage and just look at mine with a big grin. I certainly wouldn't swap it for any other motorcycle... except maybe a top of the range MV F4... maybe.

Not ridden a Daytona, no, however I did have an 1100 sport for a few years and a considerable number of miles, so i'm familiar with the general riding dynamics - if not the engine characteristics.

As far as market forces go, that may well be the case BUT the dealer / bike in question is selling for 3k more than the average level Daytona owners have been asking me for by PM :) Prices have lifted a bit recently and it's bringing out the speculators, I guess, or perhaps it's a mini-boom brought about by the recession and lack of investment opportunities?

Of course it's just my opinion, and that's worth exactly what you paid for it Wink

You could ask Mike at Moto Corsa to take a look for you and do an appraisal, which I am sure he would do for a fee. If you bought it, I am sure he would pick it up and return to his workshop and you could arrange collection from their.

There are plenty of specialist couriers and it would cost about £100 to get it shipped to Scotland.

Just a thought, but at that money I would be all over it...

I'm fairly sure this one came up last year on Ebay.... if he says it was in a storage container for a while - it has got to be the same one.

Moto Corsa  may buy it ahead of you Cry. THey do resell such things, I would use Motosport in Yeovil or Wareham myself - get Shaun at Wareham to go and have a look.

That said depending where in Scotland you are - I agree with Danspics, I would be on a train so fast....
If you wanted I would be happy to trailer it up to my place till you could move it (around 30 miles away) - petrol contribution only. I'm not up for trailering it to Scotland though :)

Thanks all. How can I diplomatically say it....more detailed pics seemed to indicate that particular one was...tired?

Always hard to tell with pictures of course, so I could well be doin it a disservice.

Tired,.... but at a very good price.... that is £2500 less than that highly polished (hiding who know what) at on Ebay at Moto Corsa.
I am always very wary of 2nd hand vehicles (cars & M/c) that look too good

If it is reasonable condition mechanically the Gumtree RS is not a bad price. Budget on potentially needing to upgrade oil pump (original is a poor design and may be worn out) and cam followers. An RS has the fast C kit cam, Carrillo rods, and very good WP suspension. If you ended up spending £7.5k in total you would have one hell of a classic sporting Guzzi. If you wanted to go the naughty 1225cc route in the future then you can liberate another 20 to 30 bhp.

Unfortunately if you want a cheap Daytona you may be waiting forever.

This is the one that was on Gumtree I think. It looks very tidy indeed and the reg plate alone is probably worth around a grand:

I noticed a spare Centauro motor for sale at Gutsibits at the weekend if anyone fancies turning an 1100 Sport into a Daytona.

Don't know how far you have come with your search for a Daytona, but I have a Daytona Racing and I am planning to sell it in the near future.

I am the first registered keeper.
It's the real deal, low mileage and in fantastic unmolested condition.
It is kept in a heated garage on stands.
I am not going to give it away, but anyone who wants the best Daytona model and understands that a bike like this can only go up in value, will not see that as a problem.
It is an absolute cracking bike.
