....That's handy tone, but in the fitting notes that are sent out with the module, it's recommended to leave the idle speed at the slightly higher rpm, as you don't lose much engine braking with 10:1 comp on the over-run, and it can usually help in limiting backfiring (pops and bangs) you can get with straight through absorbtion silencers....But if that's the way you like it, well that's fine by me. Wink Thumbs%20Up

You're most malcolm senor, and having clicked through your link to 'Crazy Horses' by that quaint Mormon ensemble the Omsonds, i felt i was beginning to lose the will to live... (in a musical appreciation context)...But i was rejuvinated by a blast from the past by recalling some other ditties from Godley and Creme, that were really v.g. indeed.....Particularly 'Under Yar Thumb' ....sheer poetry (for some on we Wink) >>>>

1100 rpm is about right,1300 rpm is a tad fast.
so a little twiddle and bobs your uncle.
Plus it helps with the heat in traffic ,mind you its that extra cooling from the head protectors

....Ah well Insurance time is here again chillun.
I see my good ol' friend Javaman has been having a bit o' hassle with Auo-renewal premiums, so as i had just received my renewal for this year,  i decided to do a little 'shop around' to see if i could get a better deal.

This year my regular broker quoted me £152. 60 for a fully comp Aviva policy with max n.c.d.  £225.00 excess and unlimited mileage / pillion cover

I rang around a few and couldn't match this by some margin, then i had a word with 'Charlie Chan' Wink (J. Carole Naish to the uninitiated)....

Blimey, it was like an inquisition by telephone by a very noice ladle on the other end of the line, sans thumbscrews....

They eventually offered me an Aviva Premium policy for £161.00 after being armwrestled down quite convincingly from £188.00(ish) even after the full wonderous package on which i was now fully briefed, was being offered in the most meticulous way, such as i was aready reaching for the biro with trembling hands...(koff koff).....

Is that steep? How about yous guy's?

Think mine's 150 summink fully comp this year (May?), 2 bikes, one on a Q plate. Swinton I think it is.

Was TPFT and still well over 100 quid, thus we proved the theory ('we' being me and the 'noice ladle' at Swinton LOL ) that if you ask for TPFT then the insurer thinks that YOU think you are a risk so mark up it accordingly. I.e. TPFT is not necessarily much cheaper.

I dislike Carole Nash's methods even after being a customer for 20 years (familiarity breeds contempt?) but they still offered the best deal, 150 quid fully comp for two big old Guzzis, one of which now insured for a 10 grand agreed value. The premium was apologetically reduced from quite a bit more after my skilful and vociferous moaning about being rung four times a day for 10 days by them on my mobile while on holiday. Back of the net!!

S'funny you mention the phone technique though. Since i asked the noice ladle to confirm their quote by post (they declined to email it for some reason)...i have had two subsequent phone calls from them by different associates and the letter hasn't even arrived yet...hmmm

Fully agree. Its not always about who is the cheapest. I wrote off my 1200 Sport and CN were very professional and very fair, plus friends with broken Guzzis on Euro tour have been well looked after.

Big%20smile He's a card ain't he.  I was looking for the Ad he did for Watneys Red Barrel, but i think it was withdrawn when the trading standards office found that there was no way you would talk like that even after 15 pints of lucozade coloured maids water....Wink

Re: Torturing my minions! Shocked  My dear fello, i have an aura of deep joylode and birdies aminals and childeryflade flock around me as if i was Francis of Assisi rebornibold....(eh?)...The only torture i stand accused of is my bathtime warblings ( and that's because the door lock is knacked) which isn't that bad actually, it's just the poor acoustics don't help, you see.

The 1kv power pack sounds interesting though, that would make a very effective rabbit deterrent and save me a fortune in 22 pellets Thumbs%20Up

Yes Andy, and i was genuinely impressed with the Aviva Premier policy with the adds ons privided by Charlie Chan's lot too...I may go for it, but the quote confirmation letter has still not arrived.

Are you a Bellagisti b.t.w.? Of course it doesn't matter if you haven't seen the light yet, and we do need a bit  'o fresh input since the old skool seem to have dropped off the radar of late, and it's only the grizzled hardcore who help support the BB breakout. Wink

40,000 rpm but not much action really was there tone?

Whereas the humour appears to be lost on the underlying theme of the beer advert too....Ah well.

Anyway, with a few final 'tweaks' to my personal policy requirements, i have now paid up to switch my insurance to 'J Carole Naish' I settled for Nr#49 with flied lice and clispy noodles, and i'm looking forward to my free meat cleaver and marry happy mires on my motocyclops. Thumbs%20Up

A wise decision Dave. I've had cause to call on the CN get you home service a couple of times. Once from the top of Scotland; they even dropped me off at the Lin of Dee youth hostel for a couple of nights then picked me up and brought me the remaining 400 miles home! Never a complaint from them. But that was a few years ago, and I think Carol's sold out since then. Still, I'm giving her the benefit.

No 940V, not a Bellagisti, just a humble GuzzistiSmile.

Wrote off my 1200 Sport on M62 last September and broke lots of bits of my bodyCry, followed by 6 weeks bedbound and total of 5.5 months off work.

Only Guzzi that suited comfort wise was a 2010 Cali Black Eagle which I have now done a couple of thousand miles on. As I get stronger each dayBig%20smile, I am looking to change.

A 1200 Sport will hurt my wrists too much over the foreseeable future, hence my passing interest in a Bella. I love the Black Eagle paint and fancied a Bellagio Black Eagle tho there are sod all for sale. One came up on Ebay recently but I need to sell Cali first or part ex with a garage.

Sat on a 2008 Bella at V Twin and it felt comfy with a decent riding position and very little pressure on my wrists which is all good. I reckon I could do two weeks round Europe on it with little inconvenience.

Phew, so there you go, that s about it.

BTW, BB breakout... like it.

i am rather fond of the Boddingtons - "want a flake with that love?" advert..

Anyway got an oil leak from the throttle body hose - probably just a loose union but oil on the starter motor is rather unsplendid.

OK Chilun, i star in reverse chronological odour Wink

@Grim: forget the 'flakey',  ol' chop, you stick with us ans youm sound.
If you ever get a chance to wade through the archives of this collection of crackpot's, you will understand that your airbox is now swimming in oil because 'Ferry Tuckwit' thought it was a good idea to put a bung in the airbox drain tube a.k.a. 'breather hose'...

The Bellagio is notorious for pumping out oil from the crankcase.

I refuse to go into finer detail, as it's been written so many toimes it makes my (eye) water. So. Step #1 Look just below the frame by the gear change.

You will see a rubber hose.. trace it up with your fingers to where it exits the bottom of the airbox.

Step#2: Put some newspaper (pref MCN) under your bike while it's on the side stand, pull the pipe off the union stub and leave overnight.

Step#3:  In the morning, take a piccy on your digicam and post it up on here.  ( I''ll help you, do a pm i don't bite)
