...Yes, they are a pretty individal machine that's for sure.
It's strange, but another Bellagio owner (Mark Bellagio) who used to post quite often on the forum, seems to have dropped off the radar of late....Do hope all is well with him as he has set up a meeting of "Bellagisti" over in Rugby for Aug. 25th. See >>>>
I'm certain that he extends the invite to riders of all of other MG models too as a chance to put some names to faces, so should anyone know of his whereabouts/wellbeing perhaps they would contact Mark to see if the meet is still on?

Hya Toad. Wonder wheels ...Is this widely available, like at halfords for instance?
Also, is this sort of a mild acid solution as opposed to the fine abrasive of other metal polishes?
I don't have a great deal of the "spotting" yet only up near the flanges at the top of the headers, and the pipes are a goldy-straw colour and i'd like to find something to maybe keep it either there or back toward new condition, but i'm a little concerned about using acid to achieve that. Thanks for the replies guys!
One of the biggest transitions I'm finding is going from a sports bike to upright cruiser. All this time I considered my sports bike very comfy. The Bellagio makes it look like I've been putting up with torture! Some useful ideas here - I've never used Autosol or Autoglym so will have to start. David - done 2,000 miles now! It's still strange getting used to the centre of gravity being somewhere else. I checked my chicken strips and I'm definitely not leaning over at all! Readjusted the clutch position to no.3 from no.4. It feels miles better than day one when it was on no.4. 940v - good point about the shading of the fly screen and 90 degree tyre valve bracket. Will have to try and see if this works. Thing is, I'm loving the naked bike experience. It feels so much cooler and is really cool riding in today's hot summer weather. I can see why cruisers are great in warm summer weather. The absence of fairing really helps cool down. Met up with Mark last Saturday - now, looking back, I'm amazed at how clean Mark's Bellagio is! After yesterday's rain, it looks like I need to wash mine again. anyone reading these posts about the Bellagio will buy one, at this rate it will be a cult bike on here love the enthusiasm chaps Hey Johnno - it's my first non sports bike so I'm surprised to be so excited about it! I've been thinking about a Bellagio for ages, but was worried it would just not be as exhilarating to ride. Not getting an easily available test ride - whereas it's easy to test ride anything else! I've ridden a few bikes, mostly modern v-twin bikes. I love v-twins and don't really care for the fours so the 936cc; the shape; the weight - everything just feels so right on the Bellagio. Everything - just beautiful Italian. If Aprilia hadn't taken over Moto Guzzi and reinnervated it with the CARC system development, I think Moto Guzzi might still be about a decade behind in their motorcycle development. They really have come a long way since Aprilia took over - so it's a pleasant surprise for me to discover it's spirited v-twin engine. I've always been a bit biased and never thought anything other than a v-twin sports bike could be as exciting to ride. I liked the Griso which I tried before the Bellagio. That was a good bike. Aesthetics - it's okay. Comfort - there's no way it even comes a margin close to the Bellagio. Engine was a different feel - more of a wolverine beast than a refined stallion at speed. It just amazes me how comfortable, swift and beautiful the Bellagio is. Moto Guzzi have just got it so right in so many areas with the Bellagio. Apart from marketing in the UK that is. PS - The links to the exhaust guys look like a good shot. I really would like to see if these exhausts can be cored and dyno'd for a longer power curve at the top end. |

Hi 940V
Yes I got mine from Halfords. Paint some on agitate with supplied brush and then wash off. Apprciate what you say about using acid rather than a polish and I felt the same when I was told about using it. Tested it on a bit small area of pipe and result was so good I did the whole lot. |

It seems you are now "in on the secret" I "found" Guzzis waaay back in 1989, I have had other bikes as well as BUT the newer range is alot more exciting. Take a look at the V11 Le Mans. Your enthusiasm comes through on your posts. Let's hope for a good Summer and get out for a few rides. If you can get along to some of the meets and rallies the Vee Twin is another Guzzi eye opener and just about unique in the UK. A mini Daytona. |

Sh*t. Did I do something I'm not supposed to?! It's very hard to tell if I'm redlining the Bellagio when I don't have a redliner! Or tachometer for that matter ![]() I am getting used to sequential gear changes by the feel of the engine, but I'm sure I'm doing a few gear changes really wrong. I jumped from 1st into 4th and pulled off at 30kph to see if it would stall - no problems there. Just a wide shaky vibration before it pulled it back from my attempt at horlicks. I was actually going to wait till summer to get a Bellagio in Europe where I'll be spending July and August. I'm actually very undersocialised and I have never been to a motorcycle bash in my life! Partly my work is a bit like yours and the spanners get thrown in at the last minute due to work commitments. The European option put me off when I looked at it in closer detail. Customs red tape and restrictions on importing motorcycles and our fantastic exchange rate made me decide to just get one to ride over in summer. My sportsbike has a tank range of 99 miles - no way I can go touring on that. Would still be great to meet up with you guys - I owe you all at least a drink for helping me out with all my numptiness! I've been away all week in Prague, just got back and catching up on MGCGB forum. Hey, belated congratulations Rob (Grant) on getting your black Bellagio! As David says (D15 NEL) it has a dry clutch hence the dry metallic rattle, no where near as bad the Ducati Monster 1000 I had!
Really good to meet up with you last Saturdya afternoon in Ewell. I hope seeing my Bellagio made you finally go for it
We're all gonna meet up on Aug 23rd near Rugby for 1st Annual Bellagio meet, hopefully you'll be back from Europe for that?
Congrats again!
Cheers
Mark

Tsk...Enuff of the pleasantries for one moment
....Back to basics, and i still trawl the web for the newest stuff picked up by the search engines on the Bellagio. i must admit that i have been dismayed by the amount of web based write ups that lean so heavily on the romantic/semi etherial pink glasses marketing blurb about this bike, and as such i continued the search for something a bit more ..
errrrr scathing???
I found this article today, written by an eastern european rider who seems to have picked up his/her engilsh by reading "murrican" review sites...
Never mind, they do have it a tad tough over there on the balkan border so take it on the chin and take a squint at this piece >>>>
Cali owners may take an extra rum ration from the barrel prior to taking position in the empty vessel...Hit it up now with Boris Mihailovic by clicking the link!

Hey Mark - did you motorcycle all the way to Prague?! Yes - it's a second hand one, 2000 miles via dealer with warranty. Did I swap the Priller?! No way ![]() The black Bellagio looked way better than on paper. After seeing yours, I figured that since it's being discontinued, I'd always be hankering after one so just went through with it. Yes - yours is very convincing Mark! Don't tell me you don't put work into keeping it so clean and shiny....after 2 days, mine looks like I've neglected to clean it for months! I wish I could do August - but I won't be back in England until the first week of September. It sounds like a great meet too! Cheers. |

When I said I'd offer a drink, I meant water! ![]() At last, I can fill up my flask with a drink on the road, rather than labelling my flask 'TOXIC - DO NOT DRINK - CONTAINS PETROL' when I ride the sports bike. It's soooo fantastic riding without needing to refill the tank every 99 miles! |

Apart from the guy's diction, he's spot on! The review captures pretty much, the essence of surprise that such a chic elegant teardrop classic could be so spirited and zesty to ride! |

Lol!
I had to re-read it again. You're right - that's not psychotic. That's just Australian English!! Have you read the Moto reviews of the Bellagio? It's in French, but the reviews are very glowing. The comments from the readers are a mixed bag though. A lot of the commentators quibble about the shape/styling of the Bellagio. None of them quibble about its performance on paper - since they haven't ridden the Bellagio! I guess the Bellagio is too 'modern' a concept for the traditional cruiser rider to get to grips with. I'm in France all July and August! It's a long way to Rugby just for the weekend! |

No worries, i'm certain there will be other Bellagio meets happening before too long.
..Could be that you may have some interesting tales about your ride that you may want to share with the forum!
Enjoy.

Hi David,
Are there many Moto Guzzi forum users from Europe here? Got to say - really looking forward to touring with the Bellagio. I might need to start thinking about sorting out luggage/panniers. The factory ones look really good. Maybe just a shame that they aren't very spacious nor secure. |

I'm heading out soon for a mini-coastal tour that will pos. use up three days of 300 mls.+ between unspecified destinations.
T.B.H. Rob, it's the boss on the back that needs the mobile wardrobe.
Not tried pillion riding yet but was concerned enough when a pillion tried to mount the rear seat perch before I'd even got on the bike ![]() It was a no goer after that. More is definitely less! To me that equates to a couple of bic dispoable razors and a bit of soul.
Shave with Occam's Razor! Less is definitely more :) |

How To Tour On a Bellagio
Well, we can still count the current UK Bellagisti within two hands, so as member #5 (as far as i'm aware as there are currently 7? )....Here is a touring solution i have hit on...The mobile wardrobe is for exclusive use of the co-pilot-esse, while my meagre needs are accommodated next to the tool roll under the spare clip on two-up saddle!
![]() The tank bag is a magnetic confection from Halfrauds, and they are not cheap believe me, but my word, what a versatile little add on that can swallow enormous amounts of kit they are!
I can thoroughly reccommend this set up for a wild week end, but the life support system comes as a custom item that you must supply yourself.
