Might not be that easy to locate a set of 'knuckles' Wink for the Bellagio with the original 'carpet fitter's kneepad' design of rocker cover, due to the placky spark wire inserts.

I can't say 100% but from the pics you Daves have posted earlier in this thread the lower two mounting screws look to be shrouded (?) and then there's the plug wire routing. Possibly the standard big block squarefin guards can be adapted by grinding off the two centre mounts, or maybe one of the continental suppliers does Bellagio specific ones - Teo Lamers, Stein Dinse, Agostinis etc. - they will all answer email enquiries in English and will often be way cheaper than Uk sources. Try to get a comparo off of another Guzzi maybe?

EDIT: Just remembered, there's a bloke who CNCs any style of rocker cover guard and is always on eBlag - they go for about £20 a pr - maybe he can knock some up for the Bellagio easily?
Pete at reboot does some with the eagle logo on them they have some on e-bay as Ray got a pair for £5.99 for his spada. ]
 Hi Gb
Re the fin guards, are these for the twin plug heads? As stated the plug lead trim  would seem to get in the way. Like D1V I prefer the minimalist look of the fin guards over the engine bars, have seen some on a Breva 1100 which bore the legend "Rossoporto.com" or something similar, but Googling bore no results.

Bye for now,

Although it looks like the Bellagio may be treated as the red haired ugly stepchild of the Guzzi range for a while longer yet - unless the Greebo 1100 or breva ones fit? Those prices are a bit eye-watering as well!

Thanks GJ,
Thats the one.
The Breva guards fit, but @ £135 a chuck I think I'll get the Dremel out!

D1V, if you want minimalist go to the link and check out the Firestarter bike!

I is shocked Jack!  That could only be a statement made by one of Cinderella Bellagio's ugly sisters Big%20smile

Yeah, but you do realise I ride a Centauro don't you? Therefore I'm more than qualified to make that remark. Big%20smile

What's a Centauro?

This can't be right?  I found out on the internet:

Strange riding choice?  Do those hoofs wear out less quickly than tyres?! Big%20smile

Nearly, although the missus might have something to say about the abducted nymph.

Strangely enough the blacksmith scratched his head a bit when I took this in recently:

Apparently, the only reason he balked at the job was because he didn't do 'dual compounds' on his normal nags.

Actually, that red cherry bike looks like what I imagine a dream cafe racer should!

Any bike that can carry a pillion like an abducted nymph is lacking pillion comfort.  She might even be more comfortable on the Bellagio rear pillion seat ;)

Errr...that one will need the pillion to practice fawning sideways like a nymph without lymph.

Nice bike Jack.  Nice garage too.  Looks like you keep both in tip top condition.

Hi there,

Dickl - there's a Bellagio meet up around mid-August sometime in Rugby.  Probably the best time to see so many Bellagisti all at the same time.

Twiggers are great...!  Btw Dave - they even have the Bellagio jacket in stock.

Hi Rob.

Yes, they are very helpful enthusiastic people and i saw they had the Bellagio jacket available but only upto the XXL size.

After a winter spill that gave me a jolly good skeletal bouncing, i have taken to wearing a mesh under jacket with high quality armour and padding on impact points as i am still slightly crocked hip and shoulder wise and feel the need for a little extra padding 'till i'm fully healed.

I actually need a XXXL size to accomodate this as well as my distinctly un-sylph like shape Big%20smile

<----edit--->

Ohhh, here's that Twiggers link >>>>>

Mornin' Dick. There is a railway station just a short hobble from Twiggers shop in Loughborough and you could go in some light kit carrying your helmet by train.  That could make a great day out with an early start from your end and a comfortable feet up trip back home during which, you could reflect on your thoughts about the bike en route.

Just a thought (was all) but i'm all for supporting fello Bello's anywhere Big%20smile

It's an idea but my biggest problem is finding the time to do it!

Very much time poor at the moment I'm afraid.

Thanks.

Dave ~ what was the quality of the Bellagio jacket like?

I wasn't sure if it was like that Dainese range of fashion accessories rather than proper motorcycling gear. Is it proper 14mm spec?

Sorry to hear about the spill.  I hope it wasn't on the Bellagio!  Which reminds me..maybe I should get planning to install some crash bars just in case....

An XXXL size is quite a tall order.  Or an XXXL order rather! LOL

Any of these close to you?

http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/Dealers/Southish.aspx

Otherwise, I guess you're probably looking at south London's Corsa Italiana which does demo'ing.  www.in-moto.com have the silver-white Bellagio on show if you're interested (no ride though).

A few of them are close but no Guzzi dealers near enough. It's a pity Steve Wesson decided to stop selling them and a bigger pity that his workshop is gone Cry

I'd reckon on Moto Corsa in Southampton as it's easier to get to than the London dealers.

You're right, it's important to make time but at the moment my weekends are tied up with "have to do" rather than "want to do" things.

Cheers

Dick

Glad you've managed to get everything together again, Dave. Wasn't too sure about the look when I saw the pic taken in your garage, but in the light of day and viewed as a whole it does seem to gel with the lines of the bike, particularly with the contrast of the carbon blade to break it up.

Have you tried the twin headlight set up at night? Do each of the lights run a standard H4 lamp and is it much brighter than the single set-up correctly adjusted?

Removing the standard mirrors does alter the stance of the bike but how are you going to fit handlebar muffs for the winter? Wink

With the tail revisions are you now running without any lighting over the number plate?

Thanks for posting the pics. always interested to see how owners mod their bikes to personalise them. Look forward to seeing it in the flesh later this month.

Hiya D1VThumbs%20Up

Wow, that's really one sinister looking beast, scares me half  to death just looking at it. Shocked

Will be interested to see what exhaust you come up with, think you need to be careful here as that will make or break it.

So far, so good, impressed.

ps We'll have no trouble picking you out at Dunchurch, and btw, is it right that the satin black ones are the fastest?Wink

Bye for now,

You must know that to be the fastest you have to have a shiny finish. All that mat black just adds extra air friction. ;-)

940V
Good looking mods! I love the bar end mirrors, they really add to the great looking bars. How much can you see in them compared with the standard mirrors? If they work well this is a mod I'd really like to do to my (fast) Bellagio.

Hi guys Big%20smile Just back in from the 'event' and knocked out at your replies/interest!  Thanks for that everyone, i'll post up more individualised replies with any q's to be answered apres shower and a couple of ice cool beers.

Heres a more frontal shot.. (including a few grammes of fly squash)..
in a more higher resolution for closer inspecting. On windows m/c's just mouse over the pic and click for full pixel size display of the image.

The air-dam effect seems to work just fine with no buffeting at all, but sustained pace on the naughty side of 90 does test the ol' neck muscles a tad, but she's "Happy as Larry" @ the legal limit WinkEmbarrassed

Heres a shot from the underside to show the refector and the tail light mod.  Viewed from the top, the mini l.e.d. lamps are hidden from sight inside the valence but illuminate the plate with a cool pale blue light.

These are 2x 8mm square 12v. styling lamps from your local branch of  halfrauds mounted on a light alloy angled bracket fixed to the top edge of the number plate.

The reflector was sourced from M&P in swansea and fixed to the plate with a rectangular flat light alloy fillet.

What will show up though, is because the heel guards apper to be made for someone with the footprint of a japanese geisha girly, anybody with a boot size of  UK9 upward, will get a melted boot heel off the std exhaust on the left and a polished/scuff mark on the shaft casing on the right.

The struggle towards perfection continues....Wink
You need one of these on the upper pipe. Stainless exhaust clamp with allen bolt and washers fitted through it. Keeps the heel off the pipe when riding with your toes on the pegs. For the shaft casing I just tryand keep my heel out! Tend to ride with my feet fully on the pegs most of the time, though. Much more comfortable over distance.

Thanks D15 That ace pic illustrates my point about those tiny heel guards admirably.

What you did there is a good solution for the problem, and i remember your posts just after i joined the forum, where we discussed some other fixes that needed to be addressed on the Bellagio. The prop stand mod you did was another neat solution too. Thumbs%20Up

It's certainly tempting but I really have to at least sit on one to see if it suits. I had an 1100i that I loved and a then I got an EV which was the most uncomfortable heap of crap I'd ever ridden and I bought that "blind" assuming it would be more of the same but better than the 1100i and don't want to make the same mistake again

I'm going over to Moto Corsa on Wednesday so I may get to sit on one and then make an offer.

It certainly does look like a good deal though.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Cheers

Dick

Yr welcome ol' chap, no svetto.

Dick, i did burble on a few posts back that once you plonk yr arris in the lush saddle you will be sold on it.

The thing that may sway you away will be that the engine may still be new and a tad tight and not appear to deliver the 'punch' you are expecting.

But with this ones only nudging 3000 mls up now, she's finished with the feely-touchy throttle control and is now voraciously gasping for a bldy good gob full of throttle and a bit of elan from you and mang she's away with the mixer Wink

In crudite, that would be like a babby comin' off the tit lioke.
