I am reluctantly selling my 1978 850 T3 California, which I have owned for the last 5 years, in order to fund the purchase of a newer Guzzi. The keeper before me bought the bike 4 years before that from Moto Corsa, who had recommissioned it for a local Army Officer who purchased it in 2012. I have most of the MOT's from between 1984 and 2005 with the bike then being 'off the road' between 2005 and 2013. This documentation indicates that the current mileage of 37,800 is probably correct. I registered the bike as 'historic' when it reached 40 years old so it's exempt from tax and MOT, although I wish now I had kept getting it tested as it creates a nice record of it's history. I had the bike serviced and new throttle cables fitted by Baldrick last year and have recently changed all the oils, the spark plugs and the air filter. I have got new rocker cover gaskets and front fork drain plug washers/oil but my lack of mechanical know how has deterred me from checking the tappets and changing the fork oil. New Bridgestone BT46's were fitted last year too.
The pictures, as they always do, probably make the bike appear better than it actually is as it's unrestored and now 44 years old. It is pretty much original though bar the alloy wheels and you could either continue to use it or restore it to whatever level you like.
The bike has an agreed insurance value of £5000 so that is what I am looking to sell it for. It is sold as seen.
