2024 Events (updated 15/11/23)

Sunday 28 April 2024 at 1230 - Lunchtime Meet up

Sidings Carriages, Dufftown

Meet for lunch at the Sidings Cafe at Dufftown. Cafe is in railway carriages adjacent to the Dufftown - Keith heritage railway station.

Friday 31st May - 2nd June 2024 - Angus weekend

A weekend of motorcycling in the Angus glens, visits to the Montrose Air Museum (excellent!), a curry on Saturday night with fish and chips for lunch at various fine restaurants along the coast. If you haven't spent time in this area then you really have wasted your breath. Camping or B&B are available in the town.
Strawberry teas at Charleton Farm are not to be missed!
Oh and a visit to the Bambse statue is worth while too. Great story, great dawg.

Friday 12th  - 14th July 2024 - mg-highland stand at SVVC Glamis weekend.

[Entries now closed]

The 48th Scottish Vintage Vehicle Club weekend of marvellousness at Glamis Castle. Hoping to have a broad array of moto guzzi's to show on a stand (in the field) at Glamis. It's a terrific event, one which probably takes more than a weekend to absorb fully but that all you get.
More details in the new year when numbers and monies need to be ascertained. Camping in the field with food stalls on the Saturday and Sunday. This year (2023) it was a hoot. Gin was the preferred spirit and scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was de rigueur - for some .
This is a no messing about weekend.

Sunday 28th July 2024 - Cullen Skink run

The annual supping of killed, then smoked, haddock steeped in milk, flaked then added to soft boiled tatties and fried onions, with a hint of double cream, some parsley or chives, along with a fair sized divot of bread at a restaurant in Cullen. The Rockpool restaurant is small - so numbers are restricted. First come first served. Always a popular event. They cater for the non-skinkers too!

Sunday 18th August 2024 - Huntly & Grampian Motor Museum visit

Meet at Huntly (Deans) at 11:30, for a dead pig and chicken embryo roll and mug of coffee, or even a bit of shortbread, then head over the Suie to Alford to visit the Grampian Motor Museum, have a wander around the fine exhibits, maybe a late lite lunch then 'eff off 'ome. Simples.
