1948 GTW 500

Acquired in 2022, the bike had formed part of an extensive private collection of racing machines. It was imported from Italy many years ago and was unused.

The bike is now fully restored, runs very well and is on a V5 with a period registration in my name.

The VMCC have certified the bike as a 1948 GTW

Please note: The bike is currently fitted with an enclosed valve alloy head and barrel; however, an original exposed valve iron head and barrel engine is included with the bike. The bike also comes with a 1953 Astore fuel tank and 'racing' GTW handlebars.

This means that it can be configured as a 1948 GTW (GTW tank, racing bars and iron engine), or as a 1953 Astore (Astore tank, standard bars and alloy engine)

I have set the bike up for riding on the road, so GTW tank, standard bars and enclosed alloy engine.

There is also a Dondolino cam shaft and 32mm SS Dellorto racing carburettor that can be included by separate negotiation.
