1981 Moto Guzzi V50

1981 Moto Guzzi V50 II, registered March 1981 with 47,100 miles. It has been registered as a historic Vehicle so is MOT and Tax exempt.

I’ve owned the bike for just over a year, having bought it from a friend who owned it for around 10 years before me, so the bike has been known to us for more than a decade.

It’s a nicely put together café-racer conversion based around the classic Moto Guzzi 500cc transverse V-twin, five-speed gearbox and shaft drive.

The bike has clip-on handlebars, café-racer seat and tail, Hagon rear shocks, bar-end mirrors, braided brake hoses and twin front discs. It also has a pair of Ducati 250 exhausts, which suit the bike particularly well and give it a lovely period café-racer look and a fantastic soundtrack - It manages to put a smile on your face after 30 seconds!

Mechanically it has had fully cleaned, rebuilt and setup carbs, new ignition coils, leads caps and spark plugs, a new battery and a new front inner tube.

It starts on the button, runs and rides well and is a really characterful little old Guzzi.

Condition is good for a 45-year-old motorcycle with typical age related marks and patina and weathering to the fork legs, with marks in places and some crazing/cracking to areas of the yellow finish. The photographs have deliberately been taken to show the bike honestly.

A great-looking and usable classic Italian V-twin that is a little different from the usual Japanese or British café-racer builds.

I'm selling it as I just dont have the time to ride it and cant stand to see it sit in the garage and do nothing.
