DUCATI 160 MONZA JUNIOR 1970

£2,900.00 Selling

Built in 1970 and rebuilt by the hull dealer Don Law in 2011.

  • New wheel rims and spokes,
  • New exhaust and Silentium silencer,
  • New control cables,
  • New piston set (61mm),
  • Top end rebuild by Pietro at Moto Marina in 2013 including; new camshaft, new rocker, reground valves and valve seats, decarb, covers polished.

The bike has been off the road since it's last MOT expired in 2016 but I have just given it a check over and taken it for a short test ride. It has covered only 505 miles since the rebuild.

The wiring has been replaced but the loom is not authentic and the colours are not correct, it all works and passed the last MOT though. The seat cover and tin work is original, as is the paint on the frame and forks. Both tyres are barely worn at all and the brakes are very good. Chain and sprockets show little signs of wear. The laquer on the paint has hazed and doesn't look great (see the photos) but there is no rust and the tank is sound and rust free. The original Del Orto carb is showing it's age and can be fiddly to set up but I have replaced all the jets and seals and it is now easy to start. Many owners replace the carb with new Del Ortos which bolt straight on and are more reliable.

Poor points worth noting are that the 6 volt headlight runs off the alternator direct and is not something I would feel safe using at night! The paint is serviceable but not great and there are a couple of surface rust spots on the rear shock absorbers chrome and on the foot pedals.

Ducati singles never seem to lose their value and are getting hard to find these days - plus this is great fun to ride!

MOT and road tax exempt.

I have the original green log book and some receipts etc along with two different service manuals (one factory).
