I don’t really want to write this, but it’s time for my Guzzi Le Mans to go to a new owner. I’m too advanced in years and it's become a challenge for me to ride, which is not fair to this fine bike. It should now be ridden by someone who can use it more than me. It’s a 1980 Le Mans Mk2, but I’ve changed several items for Le Mans Mk1 parts because I prefer that look. I’m only the third owner and have owned and cared for this bike for 38 years. It’s changed from being a daily commuter to a restored classic that only chooses to go out in good weather.
Full restoration in 2017 (only 3,000 miles ago). Engine and gearbox rebuilt by Nigel Billingsley (NBS Motorcycles). Powder coated frame. Custom stainless steel exhaust system (sounds great!) and custom seat by NBS. Silent Hektik electronic ignition. Motobatt lightweight battery. Bridgestone BT45 tyres. Borrani spoked wheels and Thomaselli clip-ons were on the bike when I bought it in 1987 and give a “retro” look.
It’s registered as a Historic Vehicle and is Road Tax and MOT exempt. But I had it tested and a new MOT was issued on 12 June 2025.
