V50 II For Sale

£1,800.00 Selling

I have a very nice, but currently not running (please read on), V50 II that I have decided to sell due to having zero time to devote to it.   I bought the bike just last year with the notion of sorting out its idling issue that it came with, and to have something to potter about on and do some light maintenance tasks on. Since then, life has got in the way (I'll not bore you with the details) and I realise I am not going to get any time for the foreseeable future. So I have decided the bike is too nice just to sit there not doing anything.   When I bough the bike, it would start but not idle. As long as I kept the throttle open a bit, it would run for as long as I wanted and all seemed good, it clearly just needed the carbs set up. The chap I bought it from had completed a number of modifications and these included changing out the standard Guzzi air filter for pod type filters. He had also put on Wassel carburettors and some aftermarket exhaust pipes and silencers (rather loud). This little combination looks okay, but is the source of it's idling problem.   My plan was to put Dellorto carbs back on it, along with a standard airbox, which would ensure the carbs are fed properly through the engine's performance range. I also planned to replace the exhausts and silencers with something much more in keeping with the nature of the bike.   I got as far as buying a brand new set of Dellorto carbs (PHBL24s) from Eurocarb, along with a spare set of jets in case I needed to change from standard when tuning. I have also sourced a second hand airbox and filter and inlets. Lastly, I have bought a brand new set of Keihan exhaust pipes and silencers. Oh, and lastly lastly (!), I have a brand new AGM battery to go on it.   So, I've spent a lot of money to be able to return it to its former glory, and I realise I will not get this money back, but such is life I guess - the bike deserves to be running and ridden.   The bike also has a non standard, but really nice fuel tank on it. I think it might have been a Norton tank.   I would say the bike is in very good condition.   I live in deepest darkest Dorset.
